About

My name is Daniel Bacon, I grew up in Vermont in the United States and moved to Northern Ireland in 2013 with my wife to raise our family closer to her relatives. I’ve been an apprentice baker since December of 2015 and have since been asked loads of questions about being a baker and the process behind what we see in the shop window so I want to share that with you and have a place to refer people to when there is only a short amount of time to tell them half of what I would like. I’m also a rather experimental baker as I don’t know enough yet to not try things that I see, so every now and again I’ll post a video or a blog about some strange thing that either I have never done before or think that it might work…or explode. I hope you stick around and join me on this journey of experimentation learning the science behind baking and keeping the wonder of it’s chemistry alive.
